Meet the Team
Chairman

Bob Pitt has over 29 years police service, with 15 years experience as a Federation Representative. As the elected Joint Branch Board Chairman, he works as one of the full time officials at Maltby.
The Chairman’s role is that of media spokesperson for the organisation and also to take the lead in conducting negotiations with the Force regarding policing strategy and all issues relating to the efficiency of the Force and the working conditions and welfare of Federated ranks. In keeping with his job title, Bob Chairs meetings of the Joint Branch Board, keeping members focused on relevant issues.
Both the Chairman and General Secretary assist and advise Joint Branch Board Representatives and, where appropriate provide personal representation in complex matters.
General Secretary

Clive McCready is a serving officer of some 23 years standing. With 6 years experience as a Federation Representative he is the elected, Joint Branch Board General Secretary, working full time from The Federation Office at Maltby.
He has overall responsibility for the effective and efficient running of the organisation and for promoting the welfare and interests of members. This extends to tasks such as ensuring that Joint Branch Board members receive the training they require to allow them to carry out their roles, on the one hand and negotiating competitive Member Services on the other. In between times it falls to Clive to ensure the smooth running of the Federation Office, to organise, attend and take responsibility for the production of minutes and completion of actions arising from Federation meetings.
Discipline Liaison Officer

Neil Vaughan has 28 years police service and has been a Federation Representative for 7 years. His role as the Joint Branch Board Discipline Liaison Officer is full time, working from Maltby.
It falls to Neil to lead the Federation Discipline Team, ensuring that they are kept up to date with any new legislation relating to discipline matters. This is partly achieved by his attendance at regional and National conferences and seminars to ensure that best practice is shared across the Federation.
He provides the organisation with its primary means of liaising with the Force’s Professional Standards Department, the Independant Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) and retained solicitors of the Police Federation of England and Wales. As the principle Discipline Representative for the Joint Branch Board, Neil attends personally to the vast majority of criminal and misconduct allegations levelled against members.
Clerical Support

Janet Fairman and Jane Gee have been employees of the Joint Branch Board for some 9 years.
Whilst their duties are largely administrative, these are often complex and require a full understanding of issues such as guidelines published by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, Civil Claims etc. They also provide invaluable secretarial assistance to the three full time officials and are often the first port of call for members requiring advice and assistance. They have an excellent grasp of Police Regulations, welfare issues and of the intracasies of the many Member Service schemes offered to members by the Joint Branch Board.
